Ancient Coinage: The Study of Numismatics and Collecting

Karissa Hurzeler is a graduate student in Classics and assisted with the cataloging and digitizing of the Lindgren Coin Collection held by the Department. She has an M.A. in Museum Studies from San Francisco State University and wrote her thesis on the management of ancient coin collections in American museums. She is also the Collections Information Specialist Level 2 at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art and has an B.A. in Classics and Archaeology from Boston University. Karissa is a dedicated cultural heritage professional who is passionate about data management and the utilization of technology to increase accessiblity of art and history, which she applies to her study of Classical archaeology.
